The MYORE is a string orchestra, performing string literature with some occasional woodwind assistance. conducted by Tina Anderson. MYORE is conducted by Tina Anderson and will perform three times this season, in the same concert as the MYO. Like the MYO, the MYORE will be performing great literature, avoiding arrangements.
Unlike other youth orchestras, MYO offers additional opportunities for growth with its Section Connection! These sectionals give students an opportunity to work with professional musicians in small groups to focus on individual sectional needs and skills.
MYO provides multiple opportunities for students to work with and learn from professional musicians. Each season students participate in a Side-by-Side Concert with members of the McLean Orchestra.
Chamber Ensembles & Solos
Opportunities are available for playing in chamber ensembles and for soloing with the orchestra. Many concerts include student soloists, small chamber groups, and even student conductors.
Students may have opportunities to earn community service hours for helping within the organization. Please speak with your director.
